Graphene Enabled Systems

Bridging the gap between the needs of industry and the revolutionary potential of graphene and other 2D and nano materials technology.

Graphene Enabled Systems is a new organisation created and wholly owned by The University of Manchester.

Our objective is to create a series of successful, market-focused joint-venture and University spin–out’ businesses based on products born out of the University’s portfolio of 2D materials technology patents – principally graphene. Graphene Enabled bridges the gap between the high-quality 2D materials research being carried out at the University and the commercial needs of industrial companies that would gain from using these technologies in their products. Our expertise complements the research activities in the University’s academic schools and includes:

  • Technology Evaluation
  • Project Management
  • Industrial Design
  • Supply Chain Management
  • Manufacturing
  • Sales and Marketing

We work closely with our colleges in all of the Graphene@Manchester organisations including: The University of Manchester Intellectual Property (UMIP) – a division of UMI3 Ltd, The Graphene Engineering Innovation Centre (GEIC), The National Graphene Institute (NGI), as well as the University’s academic schools. This close collaboration ensures that The University of Manchester can support our industrial partners at every stage of the product innovation cycle.
